Can anyone recommend a brand of oil they are happy to use in their Trabi? I have been recommended Penzoil and Castrol TTS - I have also been told that a fully synthetic oil is better than a mineral based oil - any comments? |

Each two-stroke oil you can take unhesitatingly for the motor in your Trabant. Synthetic or mineralic oil makes no difference there. The gear-box need a hydraulic-oil, called HLP 68 or an oil with classification SAE 80. [Bearbeitet von Rex (08-03-2008 - 16:01)] |

Hello, a mineral based oil is the best oil you can use. On air cooled eingines is the burn temperature very important. A mineral based oil has often a higher burn temperature.
