Yes, I bought my Trabant in Berlin just over a year ago. In Iceland there are 48 Trabi´s registered. If you look at my website you will see I have made some interior modifications and intend to do some exterior modifications like adding spoiler kit and the new headligths I saw recently on the internet. I would very much like to communicate with other Trabant owners. |

Welcome at the Forum, Icetrabi!!! 48 Trabant in Iceland? It`s much more than we think. But I`m surprised that a Trabant is the right car in Icelands winter. I use my Trabi also in this season, but we have only -10°C and its sometimes a little bit cold in the car... But only on short routes... |

Indeed it is fun driving around the city as people do look up whether they are drivers or passangers also walking people, its a lot fun. I have had driving license since late October for almost two months although I have owned this Trabant since October last year when my mothers sister who lives in Berling bought it for me after beeing looking out for one for me nearly half a year, my father flew to Berlin and drove it to Aarhus in Denmark where it was put into container and shipped to Reykjavik in Iceland. 15-20 years ago Trabant was a popular car in Iceland and there was a Trabant owners club. IFA89 your Trabi is nice and genuine I will not change mine a lot just bringing it little more to modern look. Deluxe I keep my Trabi in garage overnight and my father have to keep his Chrysler outside and there is quite a lot of snow over here now but I have had no problem driving in that condition as I have studded winter tires and I mainly drive from home to school (Collage). |
