Yipee! I'm am now the happy owner of 2 Trabis, a 1990 limousine that is registered and a 1983 Kombi that is not registered. In addition I got a large amount of spares and a brand new engine! The limo is in very good condition and has TÜV and AU from last summer. I pick it up on Saturday. The Kombi I will pick up when I have a garage for it (start of April). Dräng-däng-däng-däng Michael |

I live in Meerbusch, close to Duesseldorf. I hope I don't have to go to Denmark just yet - home of 180% car tax! Even a 1990 Trabant could end up costing a lot of money. Michael |

Congratulations! I think, when you'll drive to Denmark you will have the greatest car there.  And think to spend some time for the grease in the front axis.Do you have got some aid - books for the car (called "Wie helfe ich mir selbst")? There are some interseting facts and you will have less problems with your cars. Is the Trabant from 1983 a 6 volt or a 12 volt-car (since 1st of Octobre 1983)? Do you have some pictures from both cars? I hope you will have much fun and no problems. |

I have put the pics of my limo here: http://www.mbhh.de/trabi.html It is in very good condition but has done app. 65.000km. But with a completely new engine in the deal, who cares I will probably have to part company with one of the cars. The Kombi is probably more useful to me but I need to check it thoroughly to find out what condition it is in. At least I have the Limo to drive straight away. These are the ones that were on Ebay. I have no pics of the Kombi, but it has been repainted in a nice yellow color. It is a 6V version. I have bought several Trabi books on Ebay, so I will have a lot of reading to do. Zoni, the authorities in Denmark do not care how much I paid for the car. They estimate a price that compares to what a similar model/year would cost at a dealer and you then pay 60% of that price upon import. I bought a 1992 Seat Ibiza here in Germany for EUR 800 and paid almost EUR 2000 in taxes in Denmark Michael [Bearbeitet von Beppo (05-03-2004 - 09:33)] |

Ob es günstig ist weiss ich nicht. Ich habe für 2 Trabis, dazu ein nagelneuer Motor, riesen menge Ersatzteile, Bücher, Öl, Lack etc. EUR 1000 bezahlt. Ich bin allerfals zufrieden und die Trabis sind nur 30km entfernt. Keine grosse abholkosten. Michael
